Funny Weather | Hampshire | Until 12 November 2026

South African sculptor Jill Berelowitz is among eight contemporary artists participating in Strange Objects, the inaugural exhibition of Funny Weather, a new annual sculpture platform founded by artist and collector Arina Izmestieva.

Set within the Hampshire landscape, the exhibition takes contemporary sculpture beyond the traditional white-cube gallery and into direct dialogue with nature. Works in bronze, resin, ceramic, stone and organic materials encounter shifting light, changing seasons and the elements, inviting visitors to discover sculpture within a living, evolving environment.

Alongside Berelowitz, the exhibition features Ilona Malka Rich, Elise de Falletans, Henri Frachon, Thibault Lucas, Mathilde Albouy, Luke James and STASH.

Berelowitz's sculptures, including Moving Forward (2026), explore the human form through movement, gesture and abstraction. Installed within the woodland, the works acquire new relationships with their surroundings, their sculptural silhouettes emerging among the trees and ferns.

Featured in Country Life

Strange Objects has attracted national press attention, including a feature in Country Life by Will Hosie, titled “A new exhibition in the Hampshire forest is setting tongues wagging — and wooing young collectors.”

The article explores Arina Izmestieva's vision for Funny Weather, celebrating the relationship between sculptural materials and their natural surroundings while encouraging a new generation of art collectors.

Jill Berelowitz is featured among the participating artists, with a photograph of Moving Forward (2026) installed in the woodland, captured by Julia Anisimova for Funny Weather Gallery.

As Izmestieva explains in the article:

“I wanted to place sculptures in a different context to the white-walled gallery we normally see them in.”

The exhibition offers an opportunity to experience Berelowitz's sculptural practice in a new context, where art, nature and the changing landscape become part of a shared visual dialogue.
