‘Circle of Life’ Trophy Presented by the Royal Family at Kew Gardens: A Special Honour with Elephant Family and the British Asian Trust

Cristina Schek

It was an incredible honour to see my bronze sculpture Circle of Life presented as the Tara Award trophy to the inspiring Rebecca Campbell by Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla, during a stunning event at Kew Gardens hosted by Elephant Family and the British Asian Trust.

Circle of Life is a deeply symbolic work that features a family of elephants—mother, father, and two calves; journeying through a horizon of intertwined bronze apple branches. This piece was created as a tribute to unity, protection, and the enduring spirit of conservation. I’m humbled that it now forms part of such a meaningful award recognising dedication to protecting our planet’s wildlife.

The evening also saw the auction of my sculpture Creation, a patinated bronze egg adorned with relief acacia trees, crowned with a standing acacia rooted at its base. It’s a piece that speaks to eternity, renewal, and resilience; values that resonate so strongly with the mission of Elephant Family. Both works were beautifully cast at Morris Singer Foundry, whose craftsmanship brought the vision to life.

It was a genuine privilege to contribute to this unforgettable evening; a heartfelt blend of art and purpose, supporting the vital conservation efforts of Elephant Family. Moments like this remind me of the powerful role art can play in storytelling, advocacy, and global impact.
